About His Work

goffjamesart is the website of Goff James B.A., B.Ed., B.Fd., U.W.T.Dip. He is an artist: photographer: poet: and writer; not necessarily in that order; who works from his studio based in, Wales, U.K.

Goff James is an artist, photographer and poet whose fine art background emphasises the visual impact of images, use of words, concepts, communication and the subversion of reality.

His work displays an interest in that which can be seen and unseen, that which is heard and unheard and all those things that go unnoticed.

Images and words play such an important role in how life is viewed and experienced. They are the most powerful forms of communication and representation affecting the manner in which one views, responds to, interprets the world and the human situation.

Painting, photography and poetry are the means by which Goff represents and responds to what goes on around him; a world filled with varying human experiences, emotions, textures and juxtapositions.

His paintbrushes, camera and pen are the tools used to try to understand what he sees and hears.

Each genre is a journey of discovery, an invitation challenging the reader and viewer to enter, participate, respond, interpret, make connections, enjoy and question.

Goff James is a founding member CLYC, Art Group Wales.
