  1. Hi Goff, Wonderful job! I enjoyed the pine skirted pond! I don’t know if it was intentional, but a beaver pond that was mostly surrounded by pines or other evergreen trees would likely indicate that it was an older pond as the beavers would have already harvested most of their preferred food source of alder and aspen. The flooding of the pond could then, perhaps, allow them easier access to gathering food farther from the pond. I am guessing this would make them very happy.
