Spotlight Poetry – Sakura – A poem by Goff James

Sakura by Goff James

From the Lincoln Memorial
To the Capitol on the Hill

The avenue lined
In springtime
With sakura
Weighed by
Blossom on the bough

Their blushing forms
Light as feathers fall
An avalanche of
Petalled butterflies

Floating on the breeze
Dancing
Twirling
Rising
Falling
Dusting
All the sidewalks

In hues of
Fading pink
