A Note of Special Thanks – Open Letter by Goff James

How quickly November has flown by. A month filled with a mixture of all four seasons – sun: rain (and what rain!): wind: mist and snow. Autumn is fading and Winter stands at the gate.

I would like to express a special note of appreciation to those of you who follow and read my blog.

I also extend a warm welcome to all new readers and followers.

I take this opportunity to say to you all;

“Many thanks for following Art, Photography, Poetry. I truly appreciate the follow, the visits, reads, all your positive comments and am extremely grateful for your valued and continued support. Thank you.”

Art, photography and Poetry is an Award-Free and is attempting to become an Emoji-Free blog.

I read an interesting post the other day, I wished I had re-blogged it, concerning the effect that the use of emojis had on posts and comments.

Emojis, not only, deter the use of the written word. They considerably lower the ranking of posts and should be left to social media forums; the genesis of their creation.

I have to confess I actually hate the use of emojis and much prefer personal actual worded responses filled with the life blood of the writer.

For me, emojis create a  barrier; much like a wall, between writer and reader.

So I am a man, now, on an Emoji eradication crusade; with regards to this blog.

Each comment now that contains any Emojis I will politely ask for a translation into real words.

The crusade has already commenced.

Many thanks for your co-operation and understanding.

Have a wonderful and blessed day.

What are your views with regard to the use of emojis? I Would love to read them in my comment box.

    • Hi. Happy Sunday. Emojis are a totally subjective issue and as you say one can ‘take or leave them’. I always love reading written comments. They mean so much to me and am always truly appreciative of the fact the time has been spent writing them; when everyones’ time is so precious. I am always confused when Emojis present themselves. I never know what they are trying to say. For me, they always appear to be an irritant and should be left to the domain of social media. Have a great day. Goff
